Evidence that this was a Harper bridge: Probable

DSCF1186.JPG

This was almost certainly the third Harper suspension bridge over the Batgami.  On the tower of the present bridge is the helpful statement that it replaced a bridge of 1903. We know that only Harper bridges were being built in Nepal at that time and it is probably one of Brigadier Kumar Nursingh Rana’s list (see Nepal introduction). The present bridge is an impressive 400 feet span and a shorter bridge would have been prey to flood.
